The Jacobite Glass

The Jacobite Glass

The Jacobite Glass was first known to have  been created around 1688. At that time they were essentially just wine glasses engraved with decoration to show support for the Jacobite bid for the throne.  After 1745 they produced in much larger numbers. They were used for drinking loyal toasts, which was an act of treason at that time.  This glass is a reproduction of those glasses with an air twist inside the stem.
